Creating your own cross stitch pattern or kit is exciting because it's completely unique and one of a kind. We take your photo or artwork and convert it through a special program, but the process does not stop there. It takes a bit of time, creativity and our artistic background to give the picture a little something special.

How the process works:

1. If you decide you want a one of a kind cross stitch, then you must choose your photo or original artwork and submit it to admin@alteredcrossstitch.com.  Or send it by snail mail as listed in the About Us/Contact Us page. It as to be something with good quality and high resolution to maximize the conversion process. We will email back the conversion so that you can see the picture as it would appear as a finished product. It may take from 24-48 hours since the process is not automated and takes a human touch to complete. 

To maximize detail of the photo, especially in faces, it is important that it be a close up shot. If cropping, touching up and enhancement is necessary, we are willing and capable to make the adjustments you need. After all, if you are going to be stitching it, then we should make it as perfect as possible!

2. If you love your cross stitch and wish to proceed, carry through the secure checkout process, using the same name and email address you used to submit your photo. It really is that simple.

3. Check the mail and take your new cross stitch project home!
